Nalini has spent the last decade working across local, national and global settings to implement and evaluate community-health programs. Her post-college career began as a HIV Health Specialist Peace Corps volunteer in Botswana, working with the Ministry of Health to run adolescent HIV prevention and advocacy programs. She stayed in global public health with RTI International, managing multi-country Maternal and Child Health (MCH) research protocols monitoring COVID-19 prevalence and Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices. During Nalini’s MPH at Emory University, she found her way to Food is Medicine through a Teaching Kitchen in downtown Atlanta, facilitating FIM classes and spearheading a qualitative evaluation of the program. This past year at the CDC, she coordinated a federal strategy strengthening produce prescription and nutrition incentive programs through 83 grantees across the United States. Nalini is eager to expand her Food is Medicine expertise to encompass Medically Tailored Meals and Medically Tailored Grocery implementation, research and policy with FIMC.
